Hi, I am Haki and WELCOME to Hakicooks.
Born and raised in a Vietnamese family of passionate home cooks, my love for food come naturally. My extended family never fail to make a feast every time we gather. We love cooking and I guess sharing foods is a sincere way of showing our affection.
I live with my husband in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and enjoy its vibrant food scene. It is pure joy to be surrounded with a vast selection of fresh ingredients and cuisines from around the world.
ABOUT THE BLOG
I cook, bake and share mostly Vietnamese and other Asian recipes on Hakicooks.
I have a passion for all things food, with baking as my number one interest. So beside Vietnamese food, there will be a lot of breads and a sprinkle of sweet treats.
All recipes on Hakicooks are tried and true recipes that my family love. It can be the flavorful Caramelized Pork recipe from my grandparents; or the Wonton Noodles I enjoy while travelling and successfully replicate at home.
My approach to food is simple. Years after years of living in different continents (sometimes in places with no Vietnamese market) has taught me to be flexible in the kitchen. I cook with ingredients I can find and make changes when needed.
It is great to cook a dish with authentic taste. But I believe it is equally important to enjoy the process, come up with new ideas and create tasty dishes suitable for your family.
Food brings people together and create lasting memories. But first, I hope it makes you happy.
